About Us

First Baptist Church of Chalmette is a volunteer-led congregation. Unlike many churches with full-time professional staff, our ministry is carried out by dedicated members of our church family. Our preacher is bi-vocational, while our deacons and leaders include retirees, full-time workers, and college students. Each week, we gather to worship and work toward building a faithful local church in St. Bernard Parish—one that acknowledges our personal need for God’s grace through Christ and labors to fulfill the commission He has given His disciples.
